Salma Jaife

Salma Jalife is an experienced professional in the fields of telecommunications and information and communication technologies (ICT). She holds a degree in Electronic and Communications Engineering from the Universidad Iberoamericana and a Master’s in Telecommunications Systems from the University of Essex, UK. With over 40 years of experience in the sector, she has held numerous leadership positions in both the public and private sectors.

Jalife has played a significant role in shaping Mexico’s telecommunications policies. She served as the Undersecretary of Communications and Technological Development at the Ministry of Communications and Transportation (SCT) of Mexico. In this role, she focused on improving connectivity across the country and implementing policies to foster digital transformation. Jalife was also a founding member of the Federal Institute of Telecommunications (IFT), Mexico’s telecommunications regulatory body, where she contributed to the development and regulation of the industry.

She is recognized for her work in the international sphere as well. Jalife has been an active member of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and has contributed to various initiatives that promote ICT development worldwide, particularly in Latin America. Her expertise covers a wide range of topics, including regulatory frameworks, spectrum management, and digital inclusion. Throughout her career, Jalife has received multiple awards and recognitions for her contributions to the ICT sector.

Currently, Salma Jalife continues to influence the ICT landscape as an advisor and consultant, leveraging her extensive experience to help guide the future of telecommunications and digital development in Mexico and globally.
