Ratification of the New Governing Council at the SCALAC Assembly in Costa Rica
The National High Technology Center (CENAT) of Costa Rica recently hosted the general meeting of the SCALAC Assembly, where the composition of the new governing council was confirmed, highlighting the importance of regional collaboration in advancing high-performance computing.
During the ordinary meeting, the assembly members ratified the following leaders to guide SCALAC in its next phase:
- President: Philippe Navaux, from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil).
- Vice President: Salma Jalife, from México Digital (Mexico).
- Secretary: Alvaro de la Ossa (Costa Rica).
- Treasurer: Carla Osthoff, from the National Laboratory for Scientific Computing (Brazil).
- First Vocal: Harold Castro, from the University of the Andes (Colombia).
- Second Vocal: Nicolas Wolovick, from the University of Córdoba (Argentina).
- Fiscal: Luis Eliecer, from RedClara.
This event underscores the importance of regional collaboration in continuing to drive innovation and development related to high-performance computing, reinforcing SCALAC's commitment to technological progress in Latin America and the Caribbean.
