São Paulo, Brazil, hosted the 3rd EU-LAC Digital Alliance High-level Policy Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence and Online Platform Governance, held from July 1 to 3, 2025.
Representing SCALAC were Board President Philippe Navaux, Treasurer Carla Osthoff, and Vice-chair Esteban Meneses, who actively participated in the high-level sessions on artificial intelligence and online platform governance.
A highlight of the event was the participation of Prof. Navaux and Prof. Meneses as panelists in the session “AI and High-Performance Computing Infrastructure.” During their intervention, they shared SCALAC’s vision and the experiences of countries such as Brazil and Costa Rica, underscoring the importance of high-performance computing infrastructures for the development of artificial intelligence in the region.

Strengthening these alliances and exchanging perspectives across regions are key to fostering responsible innovation and equitable access to emerging technologies that benefit our societies.
