SCALAC Strengthens Regional Collaboration with a New MOU Signed with Universidad San Luis Gonzaga of Peru

As part of the activities of the Latin American Conference on High Performance Computing (CARLA 2025), held in Kingston, Jamaica, the Advanced Computing System for Latin America and the Caribbean (SCALAC) signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Universidad Nacional San Luis Gonzaga (Peru), reinforcing its commitment to regional scientific and technological cooperation.

The agreement was signed with the participation of Mauro Huaranca, representative of Universidad San Luis Gonzaga, who emphasized the importance of this collaboration for strengthening institutional capacities and expanding cooperation opportunities within the SCALAC community.

This agreement will open new doors for our university and allow us to share our needs and experiences alongside the SCALAC community. We have a powerful supercomputing system, and we believe it is time to make it available to the Latin American community,” said Guaranga, highlighting the spirit of collaboration and knowledge sharing.

The incorporation of Universidad San Luis Gonzaga into SCALAC’s network further consolidates efforts to expand access to advanced computing, promote talent development, and foster scientific cooperation across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Through this new partnership, SCALAC reaffirms its mission to build an interconnected regional ecosystem that drives research, innovation, and the use of high-performance computing for sustainable development in the region.
