SCALAC Presents 2025 HPC Infrastructure Report at CARLA 2026
Córdoba, Argentina — September 2026. During CARLA 2026, SCALAC presented High-Performance Computing Infrastructure in Latin America and the Caribbean – 2025 Annual Usage Report, a new study of HPC infrastructure, utilization, and operational support at participating centers.
The report examines 34 HPC systems across nine Latin American countries, with 26 institutional affiliations reported by the participating centers. Its usage data cover January 1 through December 31, 2025, while the survey was conducted between March and September 2026. Argentina contributed 12 systems and Brazil 11, together accounting for more than two-thirds of the systems studied.
The findings highlight three opportunities for regional cooperation: expanding effective access to available computing capacity, strengthening operational support, and improving how centers measure and compare system usage. The report reflects the centers that participated in the survey; it is not a complete inventory of the region’s HPC infrastructure, and this edition does not include systems from Caribbean countries.
