Esteban Meneses Rojas

Esteban Meneses, Ph.D., is the Director of the National Center for High-Performance Computing (CNCA) in Costa Rica. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Bioinformatics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Additionally, he earned a Master’s degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the Costa Rica Institute of Technology.

Meneses’ research interests focus on high-performance computing, fault tolerance, and computational seismology. Throughout his career, he has contributed to the advancement of computational techniques and systems that enhance the efficiency and resilience of large-scale computing environments. His work plays a critical role in addressing complex scientific problems, particularly in the areas of seismology and data-intensive computing.

As a leader in his field, Meneses continues to drive innovation in high-performance computing in Costa Rica, fostering research and development that impacts both local and global scientific communities.
