Who we are

SCALAC is an international, non-profit civil association with its own legal personality and full capacity to act in accordance with Costa Rican law.

Objetives

  • Regional infrastructure: Cooperate to consolidate an HPC network in Latin American and the Caribbean that provides access to services and coordinates with other regional blocs.

  • Country and center alignment: Link the regional infrastructure with national and sub-regional centers, leveraging research and education networks.

  • Training and talent: Promote education, training, and human-capital development in advanced computing, within the region and with other continents.

  • Community services: Facilitate advanced computing services for the scientific communities of network in Latin American and the Caribbean with quality standards.

  • Public policy: Serve as a CTI reference to drive advanced computing and its economic and social impact.

Mission

The Advanced Computing System for Latin America and the Caribbean (SCALAC) is an international non-profit association that brings together supercomputing centers, academic networks, and scientific communities to facilitate access to advanced computing services and promote policies, talent development, and regional collaboration with other regions of the world.
