About

SCALAC is a consortium of high performance and scientific computing centers and researchers from several Latin American countries. SCALAC provides services in infrastructure, platforms, applications, training and consulting for research, development and innovation using advanced information technologies.

Based on previous experiences EELAEELA-2 and GISELA, SCALAC was launched in March 2013 with the support of RedCLARA (Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks), BSC-CSN (Barcelona Supercomputing Center) and CIEMAT (Energy, Environmental and Technological Research Center) from Spain. A cooperation agreement was signed by its members.

Objectives

  • To support and promote intercontinental and global collaboration.
  • To share resources for continental/human needs in research and development.
